Summary
The species of Diaspididae family (Homoptera: Coccoidea) in provinces of Eastern Anatolia (Agn, Bitlis, Erzurum, Igdlr, Kars and Mus) in Turkey

Eleven scale insect species were found in Agn, Bitlis, Erzurum, Igdır, Kars and Mus provinces of Eastern Anatolia where the study was carried out. Due to continental climate of the region slowing to grow certain number of perennial plants such as poplar, willow and apple trees, a little number of scale insects species were identified.

The scale insect species were as follows: Chionaspis salicis, Lepidosaphes ulmi, Quadraspidiotus armenicus, Quadraspidiotus lenticularis, Quadraspidiotus perniciosus, Diaspidiotus prunorum, Quadraspidiotus ostreaeformis, Quadraspidiotus pyri, Leucaspis loewi, Parlatoria oleae and Diaspidiotus kaussarii.

C. salicis and L. ulmi were the prevailing species on poplar and willow trees in the all provinces. Q. armenicus was determineted in Agn, Erzurum, Igdlr and Mus provinces as frequently third species which was previously found in Van province. This species seems to be present in the other provinces of the region which were not included in this study.

The presence of D. kaussarii is the first report for Turkey which was previously known to present only in Iran. The species was determined on willow trees in Mus (Haskoy)
province.
