The determining of the numerical and development responses and resistance to starvation of Semiadalia undecimnotata(Schneider)(Coleoptera:Coccinellidae)feding on Hyalopterus pruni(Geoffr.)(Homoptera:Aphididae)
This studywas carried out to determine the numerical and development responses and also resistance to starvationof Semiadalia undecimnotata(schneider)(Coleoptera:Coccinellide) feding on Hyalopterus pruni(Homoptera:Aphididae)which is harmful on apricot,peach and plum trees in Van province,Türkiye.
All experiments has been conducted in chamber conditions having 25±1 °C temperature %60±10 relative humidity and 16 hours daily lighting period.Generally,it was found that the increased prey number was effective to become shorter of the other development larval stages expect first larval stage of S.undecimnotata.The total consumad prey numbars during all larval stages of S.undecimnotata was increased by the depending on daily gave prey density and was found that the lowest consumed prey number has been in the group which gave 10 prey number daily (totally 90.63 individuals)while the highest consumed prey number has been in the group which gave 160 prey number daily(totally 615.33 individuals).Also,the adult females was found that it has been the total consumed prey numbers increased by the depending on prey density.The females which fed 160 prey numbers daily laid in the highesteggs totally 463,daily 8.57 and the females which fed daily 40 prey numbers laid the lowest eggs totally 55,daily 1.25 while the females which 10 and 20 prey numbers daily no laid any eggs.The resistance to starvation of their larvae increased by linear when the larval stages of S.undecimnotata developed.in the adult females,the resistance
To starvation was found as 4.57 days.so,it is cocluded that S.undecimnotata may be used in biological control studies againest to H.pruni in future.
